This is the fastest of the G4 line of PowerBooks and rock solid. I bought one from Nick earlier this year and have not had a problem with it. If you are stuck between deciding between a second hand PowerBook and a new MacBook, the PowerBook may not be as fast in some areas, but it has more capabilities and looks better, too.
A 15" display is ample real estate for doing graphics and video work, not to mention spreadsheets or word processing and is even quite nice for watching DVDs. With a dedicated 128MB graphics card and a hidden speaker in addition to the visible ones, it makes for a far nicer gaming and multimedia experience.
Finally, just remember that these things were the fastest laptops on the planet not even 2 years ago, so still hold their own today...except at a much more reasonable price.
