If you can pick up one of these brilliant machines with the accompanying non-powered USB speakers, it will be very much worthwhile. It can still be used with iWork '09 and most applications that constitute iLife '09 and will still cope with YouTube videos, provided that you are patient or use the lower settings. One of the best uses of this venerable iMac is as a DVD movie player. The screen is clear and bright and the speakers are perfect. If you have an extensive MP3 collection, this iMac is also does a decent job. The prices on these machines are fluctuating at the moment, because they are becoming hard to find. Due to the unique lampshade design, ultra-flexible screen and beautiful speakers, they are swiftly becoming collector's items. So, if you can find one, be quick to buy it and take good care of it.
